one year later, all anyone ever talks about is the fun of the rehearsal dinner
"When my daughter first mentioned a cooking class as the rehearsal dinner, I had some concerns. Would we want to be cooking since we'd all be dressed up? Would anyone even want to cook? Once we did get it cooked - would it even taste good? How much would cooking classes for 40 guests cost us?
So we priced it out, and saw that the cost was the same as some of the venues we had looked at...and less than the restaurant that we had previously chosen.
By now, bride and groom were so set on the idea that we just went with it. Working with Paula to plan the menu was easy, and the choices were practically unlimited. We envisioned an elegant French dinner and that is exactly the menu that Paula and the chef put together for us.
The night of the rehearsal dinner, things went like clockwork. Not one guest appeared reluctant to get in there and cook. Everyone was excited to be involved in the dinner preparations! The groom's mother and I looked around and were delighted to see that everyone was in an apron, seemed to be totally enjoying the experience - and actually did cook! This ended up being the best choice for an event like a rehearsal dinner, because most of the guests from two families were just meeting for the first time, and this made for a relaxed and casual way for everyone to chat and get acquainted... Grandmother cooking alongside grandmother... in-laws-to-be getting to know one another... flower girls tearing up the lettuce... ring bearer sneaking strawberries...
Once everything was cooked, we were all served a perfectly delicious and well presented dinner. We were finished eating by the pre-arranged time and the Pedicabs were there waiting to take us back to our hotel.
To be honest with you, it was an elegant and absolutely beautiful wedding... but one year later, all anyone ever talks about is the fun of the rehearsal dinner. I would not hesitate to recommend Mise en Place for rehearsal dinners or any other event. It was truly a unique and memorable experience and I have been back many times since..."
